A key name in the revolutionary ambient electronica of the 1990s, the project led by Germany's Markus Popp has been silent for almost a decade after releasing benchmark albums like “Systemisch” (Mille Plateaux, 1994) “94 Diskont” (Mille Plateaux, 1995) and “Dok” (Thrill Jockey, 1998). This year Oval returns to the front line with “Oh”, a new album released once again on Chicago's Thrill Jockey label, on which Popp presents 15 new samples of his great talent as a composer and producer.
